My thoughts on E3 so far

My thoughts on the E3's Conferences and my list for the best games of E3

Microsoft's Press conference:

Bad. Seeing the press conference made me believe that Microsoft is starting to give up on it's hardcore fans there was an hour of Kinect material. It reminded me of watching an infomercial with the hardcore game as commercials. there were a few things that impressed me though.:

1.the kinect features of Mass Effect 2 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
2. Halo Anniversary
3. Tomb Raider

Also, Microsoft's boxy design will be in the next update for the Xbox. it is similar to windows phone 7. although it is good for organization, it just looks bad (at least to me).

Electronic Arts:

Good. Better than i thought it would be. they are focusing on placing social style sites in each Multiplayer game they make. and, as a slap in the face to Activision, they are making these tools free. FIFA 12 looks awesome, Madden makes me want to buy football games again and the EA partners program is looking to be a great success.

Two Great games coming from the partners program that i can't wait to have are Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and OverStrike. Insomniac games look to be in an amazing position this year since making 3 AAA titles that are sure to sell.

EA is Definitely promoting Origin, the new PC program that is to rival Valve's Steam. although the features of Origin seem promising, Origin is only in beta and since downloading it, the in-game features freeze all games so far.

Sony's Press Conference:

Awesomesause! First of all, the Apology by Jack Tretton to the PSN Commnity seemed sincere, as his voice and tone completely change while addressing this issue. I am glad that they did get 90% of the user base back and hope that they reciecve more users soon.

The Biggest news was the PS Vita (formerly known as the NGP or PSP2). Vita Stands for life, and it is clear that sony wants this device to be part of your everyday life. there are party rooms (which, in the picture had names of games under the username...could this be cross game chat?), and Near, which shows the most popular games in your neighborhood via GPS. The Dual Touch Screens are very responsive and can perform many things. Uncharted and Ruin look like must-buy titles and, best of all, it is competatively priced at $249.99

One gripe to me is that the 299.99 3G version is AT&T exclusive. I was looking for them to go for verizon ala Xperia Play.

Other Stand-outs include

Uncharted 3
The Shield drones in Resistance 3
NBA 2K11 with PSMove Support
The 26'' 3DTV bundle ($499)
God of War Origins and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Bundle
Starhawk

More will be added tomorrow when Nintendo Has their press conference and more games are annonced.
So far, i do believe that Sony is the best conference of E3. can nintendo upstage them. it is a possibility, but may take a lot of work.
